Manta, Ecuador

We have just finished visiting Manta. It is a small fishing town, that is the starting place forvisiting Machu Pichu and the Galapagos. We have chosen not to visit those places now and come back at another time when we can spend more time.

We went to an Artisans market and bought some Panama Hats, which are not made in Panama but in Ecuador. You sure can't beat the prices here. Too bad our cabin isn't bigger. We still haven't found everything we brought, or think we brought.

We also went to a mall. It was very much like our mall, including a dollar store, except for the security

Any idea what this is? We passed it on our way to the market and mall.

Hi guys....love the photos. Looks like you're having a great time. Mike says, "Continue to have a great adventure." Stephen is back in school. Our house has new windows, the tiles on the basement floors are all put down, some doors are already up, we start to paint next week, things are beginning to look like a house. Still hope that we can move in at end of January. Continue to tell us your adventures. Love ya, Mike and Barbara

You two must be out at sea as the blog is quiet. You're missing some cold temps and good skiing. KREX (Grand Junction) burned to the ground last weekend. Good Plus dance last Sat, and this Sat we have the Bear (great caller from Englewood) calling the Montrose dance.

Happy Travels. D & B
