Cairns, Australia

February 17
Arrived at Cairns, pronounced "cans",  eary this morning.  We had heard the weather was iffy, so we cancelled our ship tour of the Great Barrier Reef in favor of seeing what the day held.  It turned out to be cloudy, but not yet rainy, so we booked a half day cruise to Green Island and snorkled for a couple of hours.  Duane and Arleen went to different parts of the beach for the start, so they eached saw different fish and coral.  Arleen saw a giant clam, lots of different kinds of fish including a flounder being harrassed by a white fish with blue outline.  Very fun stuff.  Duane saw a shovelhead ray and zebra fish and a very big angel fish.

When we got back to shore, we did some shopping and Arleen did some gambling and won $20.

Great blog. I have friends on the same cruise so very nice to read all about your adventures. Couldn't see the last pictures that you posted.
