FEBRUARY 23 CHUUK ISLAND

Truuk is an island in the United Federation of Micronesia. It is an a bunch of islands surrounded by a reef. There are more than 100 islands and the reef is over 100 miles around. Some of the islands are so small they can only hold one palm tree.

This is the Truuk Stop. (cute huh) It is a hotel, restaurant and dive site.
This is a view from the shore at the Blue Lagoon Hotel, where we went wading. (maybe that is Bali Hi)
This island was terraformed to look like an aircraft carrier. We don't know why, but we were told it was done by forced labor
As you can see, Chuuk is a tropical island. Not surprising. The whole island is covered with vegetation

This is not a typical residence, it is one of the nicer ones, You can find tombs on private property here also. Each person is responsible for their own trash, so prior to burning it, there is lots laying around. The roads are the most religious in the world. They are VERY holey.

Here is another view from the Blue Lagoon. Note the bunker in the water. It was originally on land. It is a leftover Japanese ruin.

More remnants from the war
