PIRAEUS, GREECE

Look at the length of this farmers market. We took this picture from the center, not the beginning. And no, we don't know the lady or why she looks so cross We thought the City Market choices of olives was hugh. We had never seen as many types of olives as City Market has, but look at these. WOW
The city of Piraeus, where you stop to go to Athens is very hilly and definitely a city. Not our favorite place to be, a city

April 8

Last nite Arleen won a bottle of champagne for her belly dancing costume made from the mosquito netting. She even had 7 veils to throw out to people. It was great fun. We were afraid she wasn't going to be able to go to the costume party since we had been going thru some very rough seas, and even tho she was hypnotised not to be sea sick, it either wore off or wasn't strong enough for these seas. (maybe it was the seas, because we had on board, astronaut Rusty Schweickert and he was being interviewed by our tour director. He had to leave the interview rather quickly, since he got seasick. He went into space and endored weighlessness, and these seas made him seasick)

Today we arrived at Piraeus, port for Athens. We chose not to go into Athens since we are coming back here in October, on our next adventure to Greece and Turkey. So we walked for 3 hours around this town. The interesting part was a farmers market we stumbled into. It went on for ever. It was beautiful, with colorful fruits and vegetable and flowers. After we finished walking thru there, we just walked around the city. We decided to buy euros but found we could not find a bank that would change our money, so we changed it on the ship and paid the extra money.

Our next stop after a sea day is Sorrento, Italy. Until then....
