April 22 -
We arrived in Southampton and finally disembarked and were picked up by Rosa's 2 sons in 2 cars. What? you might ask, and who? Rosa is a wonderful woman we met soon after arriving on the ship. She lives here in England and speaks English with such a thick Italian accent that I often don't understand her. She was traveling with her brother, Bernardo, and his wife, Rosa. Right 2 Rosa's (with a Bernardo in the middle.) Bernardo and his Rosa live in Cleveland, and they, also, speak with thick Italian accents. They all moved out of Italy when they were in their teens or twenties, and even tho they have spoken English for 40 years or more, it's hard to tell.
Anyway, we were invited to stay here for the week we are staying in England. We will be flying home, if all goes as planned, on April 29th. Today is the 23rd and we are staying put. Duane and I both are trying not to come down with the colds that are pursuing us. Bernardo and his Rosa a leaving tomorrow for their home. We will, hopefully, start sightseeing tomorrow. London is about 1 hour away by train, so we will probably go there twice. We will let you know about that later. (If we can keep the computer working on electricity. It has been a adventure trying to get things to work here.
So, for the many of you who asked, we will be available for phone calls on the 30th, assuming all our phones get turned back on. So, if at first you don't get thru, try, try again.
