COBH, COVE, IRELAND

A view from the beautiful town of Cove. Most of the houses are painted these beautiful colors, which look great together The monument and statue for the victims of the sinking of the Lucitania. It says on the plack, "for everylasting and universal peace".
This is where the passengers loaded on the Titanic waited and left from. (notice the boat from Hawaii)
Inside St. Colman's Cathedral, high above the city. From the shore it looks humongous

Another pieta no done by Michaelangelo. It is pretty too
April 19

Cove is the port for Cork. We decided, since it is only 45 degrees and very windy, that we will stay in Cove and see what there is here. We found out that Cove was the last stop for the Titanic and the closest town to the sinking Lucitania. Her fisherman were the ones that helped save survivors and collect bodies. Many are still buried here. 7 Passengers got off the Titanic in Cove. The lucky ones. Another 17 unlucky people got on.

The town is very cute and the people have been very friendly. We enjoyed our little walking tour and our own meanderings. We visited the cathedral where the survivors and victims bodies were taken after the Lucitania. It is a beautiful church.

Only one more port before we disembark in England. We are trying to figure out how to pack so we have something left to wear in England, but not too much to carry.

More after France.
